Mum of three Jo Gilbert is one of those exceptional females whose relentless energy and determination should inspire us all.
This is a woman who refused to be beaten by the horrors of domestic abuse, and who fought her way out of financial poverty in a mission to achieve business success.
This week, having also established herself as an author in recent times, we hear she’s now topped a bestselling book list.
Reaching the top spot comes on the day that the nation marks National Book Lovers Day, and also means 47-year-old Jo has now celebrated topping this bookseller top spot for the SECOND time.
It’s a title which has gone straight to the number one spot in the Amazon Bestseller chart*.
The book is definitely worth a read, and features females with very different stories of triumphing over adversity or achieving commercial success.
Earlier this year it was Jo’s ‘Strength and Power’ title which achieved No.1 Bestseller status.
That publication told how she had overcome huge financial losses and personal heartache. She Who Dares, meanwhile, shares how Jo had managed to develop a much respected position in the energy sector, and launched her own globally focused consultancy in the competitive arena.
She charts the struggles she experienced, alongside revealing her insights on how she overcame such challenges, in a bid to inspire others looking to make a change in 2018. Jo also shares how specific mindful tools have become part of her solution – and can be for others too.
She said: ““Being included in this book is a celebration for me of how far I have come, and a recognition of what can be achieved when women in business come together.
“I hope we can inspire other women, who dream of running their own business, but who perhaps haven’t taken that step yet, or those who are in the early stages and are feeling a little lost.”
Jo is part of a network of women called Female Success Network, from within which all the featured women are members.
For her, the membership has been pivotal to her growth and provided invaluable support.
She added: “I am so excited to share my story alongside these other amazing women from Female Success Network who have had my back over the last 12 months. I could not have achieved what I have this year without them.”
Jo is this week launching Shangri-La Mindfulness Meditation Coaching in celebration of her becoming a bestseller again, and as a further extension of her mission to knowledge share and inspire others to improve their mindset and focus.
She set up her second business venture in February of2018, supporting business entrepreneurs globally with her unique Business Coaching Programme The Lift ™ which combines traditional business tools and techniques with soft skills such as meditation, mindfulness and visualisation.
She said: “I created my current business almost by accident, out of a self-development desire to learn more about Mindfulness and Meditation, I work in the Energy Sector which can be quite stressful, so I was looking for something to alleviate that stress.
“I had always believed I would own my own business which I have since 2010, however I never imagined I would be running meditation and mindfulness workshops and focused business retreats…Looking at what I have achieved over the last 12 months blows me away and looking at what new skills I have learnt only inspires me to learn and do more!”.
She Who Dares, which was produced as a collaborative project led by Authors & Co, is available now via Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/She-Who-Dares. The book is also soon to be made into a paperback.
Abigail Horne, book coach at Authors & Co said: “Documenting your story can be one of the most powerful things you can do, to leave your legacy and to help have an impact on others. Jo’s story is sure to strike a chord with many other women worldwide, and I’m excited to have been able to help her share it, and achieve best-selling author status again at the same time!”.
